My parents were up here, and 24 hours later they were gone. Damn Jeanne!!! Our eventful night of dinner and belgium beers at The Brick was so much fun, breakfast at Flying Biscuit (of-course), and painting our apt. We had tickets to the Opera Carmen sat. night, but had to bring our friends Dave and Meadow because of my parents departure. We enjoyed our evening out at the opera, but found it a little disappointing. The girl who played Carmen, Emily Golden, we really not as good as you'd think she should have been. She's played the part 300 times, and I think is getting a little stale. You just didn't buy that she was "Carmenita" the sexual, enchanting gypsy. She did a great casinette dance, but that was about it for her.
Few things in ATL. There is a photo exibit happening in atl at the OTHER high museum downtown. My friend Meadow worked with this women in NC that would give her students in the public school a camera to take home, take pictures of their environment, and explore literacy through those pictures (which they developed in the dark room). Wendy Ewald has an exibit of these photographs in atl at the high which I am soo exited about seeing. it sounds like an amazing project and way to teach our children to write and think.
I have to say something Brick Store Pub before I leave this e-mail. I think this will now be one of our favorate places in Atl. Since the new increase in alchohol % here in GA, we've been able to get many more interesting beers. One Fri night my parents, tim, and i went to have dinner here. We enjoyed a variety of belgium beers including St. Bernardus Abt. 12, Maudite, LaChoffe, Traquair Jacobite Ale (i think) and a few others I can't remember. It was really enjoyable!!

A quick update here in ATL. This weekend my parents are coming up. We're going to see Carmen (the opera) shown here in ATL by the Atlanta Opera Company. It's one of my favorate operas, i'm very excited.
Also, something of big news has been Color Purple musical playing here in ATL. NPR had a quick overview of the play, producers, and their desire which is to go on broadway next year. I suppose we'll have to see it before it leaves ATL and becomes impossible to get tickets (like Rent was). I'm not sure how exactly they will pull off Alice Walker's piece, but she seems be be approving so far.

this is noah playing with his stuffed animals. he often enjoys hiding under the aniamls and waiting to be found. this picture was taken after he had uncovered himself, i felt it was a good picture to share with the rest of you.
it's too bad that i have no fucking idea what i am doing attempting to program (which is scary considering I’ll be in a statistics comp. Programming class this fall. I wish it taught me how to program my blog!!). I think we're just going to have to move past my inadequacies and wait till some fairy (JosiahQ) responds to some e-mail and fixes all my computer problems.
All this to say that i'm very sorry about the aesthetics of this sight. I absolutely have given up on trying to fix it.
As for me, i've started Public Health at Emory. I keep sitting in my classes watching the teacher thinking, "is this teacher really worth 22,000/yr? The profs. at UF were very good, nationally recognized, and it cost me 0 $." I've only had 3 days of class, so i think that i will enjoy myself more once i've really gotten into the whole thing.
For those of you who had heard about our Hemphill Apt (wouldn't that be something living there). We are no longer going to be living there, nor are we going to live at our usual Myrtle Apt (we were informed that it's been rented out to another tenant even before we've left:)...). After MUCH hassle, we got out of the lease and am going to move somewhere else.
