In a mad rush the morning before our flight, which we ended up missing by 3 minutes (you need to be checked in 45 min early),
we discovered that tim's driver's license had expired on his last birthday. Ari became the driver, adding another couple hundred dollars to our car bill b/c she is still a babe (24).

After a rainy first night at Mt. Rain-on-me National Park and traveling through Tacoma for church, we went straight to Silver Falls State Park

outside of Salem
.
From Salem we were able to try some wine

and tour Portland...love the bookstore.
Out of curiosity, and having no kids yet in our life, we decided to run across the cascades

to The Bend

in our Part-Time Cruiser

to camp

and see how much Oregon changes from Valley over Mountains to Desert.
On our way to see some old friends from Geneva OPC in their new home of Grants Pass

we stopped by Crater Lake National Park

to play in the snow

and see a baby bear. (No mom in sight, which freaked ari out.)

Returning to the airport in Seattle, we decided to head south into CA to see some red wood forests

and drive up the beautiful, but rainy coast of Oregon

so we could enjoy some of the true Rouge brews in Newport
(our newest home brew is a clone of Rouge's Dead Guy and has matured into wonderful tasting ale.)
Our trip is now finished,

we're now home, our bags finally arrived safely, and we're longing for the moderate temperatures, the clean air, and all the state owned property of Oregon (alright, maybe that's just me).
BTW: Moms and Dads...I love having a SLR-digital camera. Thanks.
